NATIONAL HOMESCHOOL MUSIC ENSEMBLES

2008 - 2009

.

Thank you for your interest in NHME!  Since we teach in two locations and provide several levels of instruction, it can be a little difficult to decide how to fill out an application.  We will explain here how the year at NHME looks to us.  Any questions you still have can be addressed to Mr. Dobrosky by email (doby@provide.net) or to Ms Johnson by telephone (734-995-1205).

On TUESDAYS we work in TECUMSEH at the Tecumseh Grange at 909 Burt Street across from the western edge of the Tecumseh Country Club.  Park behind or at the side of the Grange and come up the steps and in the front door.  Our first meeting will be September 2, 2008.  The schedule is as follows:

               8 – 9  a.m.                Solo and ensemble groups on a rotating basis

               9 – 11  a.m.              Concert Band (Intermediate / Advanced)

             11  11:15 a.m.         Percussion ensemble setup

On WEDNESDAYS we work in ANN ARBOR at the Pittsfield Grange at 3337 Ann Arbor-Saline Road.  Our first meeting will be September 3, 2008.  The schedule is as follows:

                 9 – 11  a.m.            Concert Band

               11 – 12:30                Choir

              12:30 – 2:30   p.m.    Beginning Band

In case of truly inclement weather (which is quite likely in all locations for some reason)  we almost always follow the public school closings.  If there is an exception, we will try to reach all students by telephone.

If your student is unable to come to a rehearsal, we definitely like to hear about it in advance.  An email to Mr. Doby or a phone call to Ms. Johnson would always be welcome.

The Holiday Concert will take place in mid-December (probably Dec. 16) in Ann Arbor, and we will announce the date as soon as our venue is confirmed.  The Spring Concert will take place in Tecumseh in May 2009 (probably May 19).
